On September 12, 2024, Best Workplaces for Commuters hosted the webinar, "Workplace Charging for Governments."  Watch the recording to learn from Tacoma Public Utilities on how cities, states, and municipalities can effectively deploy workplace charging solutions. Colorado Department of Transportation shared their experience with implementing workplace charging, including successes and lessons learned. EVNoire shared information on two U.S. Department of Energy Funded programs that provide free technical assistance and support for anyone looking to install Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Jay Donnaway serves as Resource Conservation Manager at Tacoma Power, a 100% hydropower municipal utility serving over 186,000 customers in Pierce County Washington.

Jay is a Certified Energy Manager in the Association of Energy Engineers with over 30 years experience in conservation of materials, energy, and water resources.



Tom Pacheco
Colorado DOT

Tom Pacheco is a leader with over 30 years’ experience in the alternative energy transportation sector and presently works for Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).

For the last 7 years Tom has foucused on the Electrfication of CDOT fleet and facitlies. Tom is finishing up a project at 23 different CDOT locations. This project requires working with 11 different utility providers, 16 Counties and 4 different Forest service regions.


Brandon Smith

Brandon CC Smith is a dynamic leader and passionate about contemporary technology, electrification and decarbonization. Brandon has worked with urban mobility, vehicle sharing, electric vehicles, electric vehicle infrastructure and autonomous vehicles for 8 years — involved with large companies, like General Motors and early stage start-ups.

Brandon is an advocate for equitable EV adoption. Through his work in the electrification and decarbonization industry, Brandon strives to create a future in which all voices are heard so that all may benefit.
