Join us for the BWC Opening Day webinar to kick off the application season to join Best Workplaces for Commuters for the 2027 List Release. New and renewing members will be able to apply for the 2027 List online, starting Monday, June 1, 2026. The webinar will be held on on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 11:00am - 12:00pm ET. The webinar will include a celebration of Virginia BWC partners and members for leading the nation in total number of BWC members. Virginia leaders Monica Backmon, NVTA; Bill Cuttler, VDOT and Chris Arabia, DRPT will share in the celebration to honor the exceptional effort made to reach this goal. In addition, the webinar will include short videos from BWC partners and members across the country to emphasize their continued commitment to their community and BWC!

Virginia is on the move! Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC) has recognized Virginia as the #1 state in the nation, reflecting the Commonwealth’s commitment to innovative, employee-focused transportation solutions.
This ranking celebrates Virginia for having the highest number of participating employers, universities, and residential communities in the country engaged in the Best Workplaces for Commuters program, which promotes commuter-friendly benefits and practices. With a total of 93 recognized sites, Virginia is setting a new standard for commuter programs that support employees and communities alike.

The 82 Alliance Welcomes New Board Member, Julie Bond
|
The 82 Alliance, a not-for-profit mobility think tank reimagining how people move throughout our communities, would like to welcome and recognize Julie Bond, Director of the Transportation Options Program at the University of South Florida’s Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR).
She leads nationally recognized initiatives focused on transportation demand management (TDM), commuter benefits, workplace mobility strategies, and safety outreach. Julie also serves as Program Director for Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC), a role she has held since 2007. In this capacity, she works with employers nationwide to advance innovative commuting solutions and improve workforce mobility. In addition, she is an instructor for the TDM Professionals Learning Series, helping build capacity and professional expertise across the transportation demand management field.
